State Government

Since Alinta’s original closure announcement in June, the State Government has had people on the ground talking to communities in the Upper Spencer Gulf and Outback region about the issues likely to impact them.

The Government established the Upper Spencer Gulf and Outback Community Engagement Team to provide immediate support to the community and Alinta employees.

The Government’s engagement with the community has now transitioned to relevant organisations including the Outback Communities Authority for general enquiries in relation to Leigh Creek and the Upper Spencer Gulf and the Office of the Commissioner for Public Employment for the Alinta workforce with right to return to Government.
